Nvidia & Steam Enters Video Gaming Industry
This week, both Nivdia & Steam unveiled their own gaming device. Which taken almost everyone by surprised. Nobody had expected both of these company to release their own gaming device.

Firstly, the Nvidia handheld game device using Android based system was revealed during the CES press conference. The project titled “Nvidia Shield” is a combination mixed of Nintendo DS and controller that looks like the one in Xbox 360. The screen has touchscreen capabilities and support HD 720. The back of the game device can be customize to suit the player satisfaction.
With an Android based system, there will be apps like Hulu and Netflix, which allows user to watch video from the device. Another features will be allowing users to screen their game in their desktop into the device, but not the other way round.
No price or any other information including the release date is given. But there is a video for their project.

Lastly, Steam game console was announced during a press conference. The game console is a joint collaboration between Steam and Xi3 Corporation. The game console titled “Steambox” is designed to support Steam games for larger amount of player together playing on larger high-definition screen. Like the Nvidia, no price or any other information was given.
Considering the fact that both of these companies never made any dedicated gaming devices before. It will end up pretty bad especially for Steam game console. Why?Because majority of Steam user are PC user. So I don’t see the point of having a Steam console. Also, Nvidia might have good graphics. But how good it will be will depend on the games that they offer and the user interface. Something that I am skeptical about it being good.
