Top 10 Worst Anime of 2012
2012 draw to a close with exciting anime aired. Some did not live up to expectation, while some simply disappoint me. Do take note that this is my personal opinion, if you aren’t happy with my opinion, the comment section down there will always be there for you to type out furiously in capital letters. So here are the list of top 10 worst Anime of 2012.
Sword Art Online
Now, before you SAO fans start raging. Let me explain why I put SAO in the list. Firstly, it is over hyped. Secondly, the story development is bad because everything had happened too fast. They skipped some of the chapters in SAO world. Honestly speaking, I would rather have SAO a separated season. Leaving some room for SAO story development, rather that squeezing both ALO and SAO together in a season.
SAO have everything to make it the best. For example, the BGM and CG effects. But the fans and the story development simply ruined it. Which is why it ended up on our list. At least it was good enough among the worst to be on number 10.
Black Rock Shooter
At first, when I look at the art I thought it was going to be good so I give it a try, but after watching the 5th episode. I simply give up. I don’t even know what was going on, the scene kept jumping from one place to another with a proper explanation. Usually, when one reached the middle of the show’s season. One should already understand the plot well and are well aware of what’s going on. But for BRS, it didn’t.
The only good side though is the art and CG effect. Other than that, it isn’t worth my time commenting on it.
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
I tried to love this show, trying it very hard because I love Takamura Yui. But no matter how much I tried, it still disappoint me a little. This anime is quite bad ass especially the battle scene and the effect. But the fan service simply kills it. I don’t mind having fan service as long as it is kept to the minimum. But the amount of fan service inside this anime is simply too much because it seems to me that this show isn’t the type where there is a lot of fan service. Secondly, I would rather they focus more battle against BETA rather than fighting each other TSF. Also, in the first few episode, the quality of the animation was bad, but gradually improved by only a little.
Overall, this anime has good battle scene and amazing OP titles. But the animation quality and the fan service make it bad and put them on our list.
To Love-Ru Darkness
If you think it was censorship that put them on this list. You are correct. I don’t mind having censorship. But the censoring is simply too ridiculous for me to carry on watching. Almost half of the time, my screen is filled with beam of sunlight and some dark spots everywhere. It is irritating and you can’t focus watching your show. Other than that, everything was fine.
The plot isn’t good. Anime like Jormungand did better. It seems to me that this anime is trying to look nice on the first few episode, but as you are starting to get into it, you feel that this isn’t going to be exciting anymore. The plot was very disappointing and the art was only decent. The BGM and the character are also average. Which pull down the score due to the plot. Which is why it ended up on the list.
I don’t like it for some reason. The first few episode of the plot is simply too silly and I don’t like the fact that they are loli looking character. I would prefer a mature looking one instead. The art isn’t really that stunning. I prefer IDOLM@STER or the upcoming Love Live over this. But one thing I do admit is that the music aren’t that bad. But the story and the character ruined it. Which is why it ended up on our list. If you aren’t a AKB48 fan, don’t watch it.
Hiiro no Kakera S1/S2
One word. Boring. I spend my time watching season one and it was that boring to the point I felt asleep. I can’t see the reason, how the heck did this anime get a second season? It even failed to meet my lowest expectation. Apparently, the producers doesn’t seems to give a shit about the character development, story or anything else. Which is why some anime adapted from visual novel are good, but some are rubbish and this one set a good example.
Hayate no Gotoku! Can’t Take My Eyes Off You
Disappointed. Never mind the fact that they did not cover Athena arc which almost make my blood boiled. The animation was rubbish and got even worse towards the end of the season. I don’t like the art as I prefer the old one, it was horrible and it isn’t fit to be drawn in this anime. There isn’t much comedy in this anime unlike the previous 2 season, which what makes the show popular. Overall, it failed me so badly that it deserve to be in the top 3.
No. It was not the death of the beautiful Inori that put them in number 2. There are so many reason that this anime gets my number 2 spot. Firstly, the character development is rubbish. People who watched the show have some lack of understanding of the character. The development of the character is too slow and worst, some not even develop at all. Secondly, the story is also a bit too fast which is why they are unable to develop the character. It seems to me that they are trying to squeeze a show that is supposed to have two season into one. Many viewers called it Code Geass rip off which I don’t really think so. But nonetheless, with bad character development, fast story and bad ending it is in number 2 place. The only good point is BGM and OP and ED title. Which is why it didn’t ended up in our number 1 spot.
Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter
My goodness. Just by reading the plot tells me that this isn’t going to be a good show to watch. The story is about cars been transformed into robots and saving the world. In other words, simply a transformers rip off. The rest of the aspect of the show, I don’t have to explain and I can’t explain anything to begin with. Sometimes, what should stay as a manga or game series, should really just stay there and never get an anime adaption. Seriously, what exactly were the producers thinking? This is definitely the worst anime of 2012.
